A franchise agreement reinforces our pledge to maintain and improve a mutually beneficial, ongoing relationship. The support MidAmerican Energy provides and the contributions we make – beyond energy services – strengthen our communities and make them better and more sustainable places to live.

 

The relationship between MidAmerican and each of the communities we serve is formally outlined in a franchise agreement. The agreement provides us the authority and legal right to use the streets, alleys and public places in the community for the placement and maintenance of the utility equipment needed to provide electric and/or natural gas service to our customers.
