DES MOINES, Iowa – (Oct. 5, 2012) – MidAmerican Energy Company and Serve Outdoors have teamed up to host the 4th annual deer hunt for disabled veterans Saturday, Oct. 6, and Sunday, Oct. 7. The hunt will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
The hunt will be held at Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve, owned by MidAmerican Energy. The property is adjacent to MidAmerican Energy’s Louisa Generating Station, south of Muscatine, Iowa. Serve Outdoors will provide the hunters with archery equipment, and MidAmerican Energy employees will volunteer as guides. Serve Outdoors also will provide lunch at no cost to the hunters.
A media availability event will take place Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Louisa Generating Station lunchroom, 8602 172nd St., Muscatine. Representatives from MidAmerican Energy and Serve Outdoors and hunting participants will be available for interviews.
