Douglas Anderson, 51, has been with MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company for more than 10 years starting as corporate counsel to CalEnergy and holding various legal counsel positions of increasing responsibility. In May 2001, Anderson assumed his current role as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. He oversees all legal matters for the company. Anderson supports the company’s acquisitions, development and financing activities, and is responsible for all contract, litigation and regulatory matters.
Anderson graduated from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D. in 1981 with a BA in economics and business administration. In 1985, Anderson received an MBA from the Indiana University School of Business and a juris doctorate from the Indiana University School of Law. He has practiced with Foster, Swift, Collins and Smith of Lansing, Mich.; Anderson & Anderson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and Fraser, Stryker, Meusey, Olson, Boyer and Bloch of Omaha, Neb.
Anderson is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, South Dakota State Bar Association and Michigan State Bar Association. His interests include hunting, basketball and family. He and his wife, Bonnie, have a son, Kyle, and a daughter, Katie.
