Electric Transmission
Next Steps
MidAmerican Energy is holding informational meetings to address all aspects of the project and
show landowners the proposed route, using aerial photographs of the area. After the
informational meetings are held, individual meetings will be scheduled with each landowner
who has property located in the proposed right of way corridor to answer questions and
address the negotiation of easement terms and conditions.
MidAmerican Energy understands and appreciates the concerns that landowners have regarding
the impact the project will have on their property. MidAmerican Energy is committed to
providing fair compensation to property owners for the use of their land.
MidAmerican Energy will make one-time easement payments to landowners. The amount will be
determined based on a percentage of real estate values plus pole payments. When property
that falls outside the right of way corridor is impacted, construction easement payments
also may be negotiated. Construction of the four projects is expected to take place
between 2014 and 2017.
