Power Downarrows

Personal computers use about the same amount of energy to start up as when they are on for about two seconds. For energy savings, turn off the monitor if the computer will not be used for more than 20 minutes and turn off both the tower and monitor if the computer will not be used for more than two hours. Activate the computer’s power management features so it powers down when idle.

Consider using a power strip that can be turned off at bedtime or when computers, printers, wireless routers and other electronics are not in use. Unplug battery chargers and power adapters when charging is complete.
