Kelcey A. Brown
President and CEO, MidAmerican Energy

Kelcey Brown serves as MidAmerican Energy's president and CEO. MidAmerican provides electric and natural gas service to nearly 1.6 million customers in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska and South Dakota. The company owns and operates a diverse and growing portfolio of power generating assets, as well as an expanding transmission and distribution infrastructure. Brown began her employment with the Berkshire Hathaway Energy family of businesses in 2011 when she joined PacifiCorp in Portland, Oregon. From 2011 to 2020, Brown served in various regulatory, commercial and operational roles, most recently as the vice president of energy supply management, where she was responsible for the energy imbalance market analytics, policy research, contract administration and short-term load forecasting. Prior to joining PacifiCorp, Brown was a senior economist at the Oregon Public Utility Commission and an economist at Blackfoot Telecommunications. On January 26, 2021, she assumed the role of president and CEO at MidAmerican. Brown graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in regulatory economics, and she served in the U.S. Navy for five years, with most of her enlistment on board the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier.

Blake M. Groen
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Blake Groen is the vice president and chief financial officer for MidAmerican Energy. He has been with the Berkshire Hathaway Energy family of businesses since 2013 and joined MidAmerican in 2022. In his current role, Groen is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, tax and budgeting, and forecasting activities. Before joining Berkshire Hathaway Energy, Groen was employed by a Big Four accounting firm where he held a variety of progressive accounting positions. Groen earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Creighton University.

Peggi S. Allenback

Senior Vice President, Thermal Generation, Market Operations and Supply

Peggi Allenback is the senior vice president of thermal generation, market operations and supply for MidAmerican Energy. Allenback has been with MidAmerican and its predecessor companies since 1992. She has held a variety of leadership roles in gas supply, gas operations, electric trading and generation. In her current role, Allenback is responsible for the strategic operation and management of MidAmerican’s thermal generation assets, the long-term procurement and planning of MidAmerican’s natural gas supply, and electric market operations. She has an accounting degree from Briar Cliff University.

Michael C. Fehr
Senior Vice President, Renewable Generation and Compliance

Mike Fehr is the senior vice president of renewable generation and compliance at MidAmerican Energy. He has been with the Berkshire Hathaway Energy family of businesses since 2010. In his current role, Fehr is responsible for the operations of MidAmerican’s growing renewable generation fleet, which currently includes more than 3,000 wind turbines, as well as maximizing the output of renewable generation and developing long-term operations plans for the future. He is also responsible for MidAmerican’s environmental, NERC compliance and right of way workgroups. Before joining MidAmerican, Fehr was employed for 14 years by a consulting engineering firm, holding various design engineering and engineering management positions. Fehr earned bachelor’s degrees in animal science and mechanical engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kansas. He is a licensed professional engineer in Kansas.

Nick J. Nation

Senior Vice President, Delivery

Nick Nation is the vice president of delivery for MidAmerican Energy and oversees the overall planning, construction, operation and maintenance of MidAmerican’s natural gas and electric delivery systems. Nation started his career as an intern for the company in 2006 and officially joined the company in 2007. Prior to his current role, Nation held a variety of progressive engineering and management positions within the electric delivery department, and his most recent role was as vice president, gas delivery. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration from Drake University. Nation is a licensed professional electrical engineer in Iowa.
